Call for Abstracts

The abstract submission window has closed.

The 2024 National Nurse Educator Summit will focus on the critical issues facing healthcare and nursing education today, with topics to help educators prepare future nurses. This year, ATI will be looking for topics specific to our policy principles established to enhance and support growth in nursing education. The categories we are seeking podium presentations for are as follows:

  1. Help More Nursing Students Succeed
  2. Promote the Nursing Profession
  3. Promote Quality Care and Patient Safety
  4. Promote Equity
  5. Recruit and Support Nurse Educators
  6. Leverage Education Technology
  7. Bridge the Academic-Practice Gap

Abstracts must describe completed projects, and all work should be original. Abstracts must also include how they link back to one or more of the above policy principles.

Abstracts may take the following forms:

  1. Research Abstract: Abstract representing a complete research study, which includes an introduction to the overall topic including purpose, pertinent background, a concise description of the methodology and results, and a sound conclusion, which is directly connected to the purpose of the study. The results of the research study should clearly impact or benefit nursing education. The study may be any one of the following:
    1. Qualitative
    2. Quantitative
    3. Mixed Methods
  2. Evidence-Based Best Practice or Teaching Strategy Abstract: Abstract representing an educational process, strategy, teaching or practice innovation that represents a change leading to achievement of a desired outcome or meeting a benchmark for nursing education and/or student learning outcomes. Include example/s of implementation and evaluation of the practice or strategy.

Presentations may take the following forms:

  • 60-minute standard breakout session
  • 90-minute interactive breakout session
  • E-poster presentation: digital poster with 15 minute podium presentation
  • Standard poster presentation: physical poster with exhibit hall presentation times

You may select an alternate presentation form during the submission process to present if not accepted for your first choice.

In order to be accepted, you must be willing and able to attend the 2024 National Nurse Educator Summit in person in Salt Lake City on April 7 – 10, 2024.

For speakers whose 60- or 90-minute sessions are accepted, ATI will provide complimentary conference registration, a hotel room for the night(s) before and the night(s) of the speaking obligation, and a $500 stipend for travel (totaling a $2,300 value). Poster and E-Poster Presenters will receive 25% off the full-price conference registration ($250 value).

  • Abstract Submissions Due: October 2, 2023
  • Acceptance/Rejection Notifications Given: October 25, 2023
  • Speaker Acceptance Needed By: November 6, 2023
  • Preliminary Presentation Information Due: November 27, 2023
  • Final Presentation Due: January 8, 2024
  • Event Dates: April 7-10, 2024
