Redefining and Redesigning Clinical Education: A New Approach to Clinical Education

Recent innovations in clinical education have created new opportunities to develop clinical learning activities informed by learning theory and educational research. Simulation has been studied extensively and recent studies suggest it can replace some of the time focused on patient care in traditional clinical education. Other approaches such as Concept-Based Learning Activities (CBLA) have also been shown to facilitate the development of clinical reasoning and judgment.
