SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT

The 2027 National Nurse Educator Summit will focus on the critical issues shaping nursing education, student learning, workforce readiness, and healthcare delivery in today’s rapidly evolving environment. As nursing programs continue to adapt to changing practice settings, technological advancements, and workforce demands, the Summit seeks to provide nurse educators with evidence-based approaches, innovative solutions, and practical tools that enhance teaching effectiveness and student success. 

Topics of interest should support both undergraduate and graduate nursing educators as they prepare the next generation of nurses for safe, competent, and compassionate practice. We are particularly interested in presentations that: 

  • Provide innovative teaching and evaluation strategies that promote practice-ready graduates. Submissions may explore active learning methodologies, simulation and virtual learning technologies, competency-based education, clinical judgment development, assessment and evaluation techniques, interprofessional education, related academic research, and strategies that bridge the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice. 
  • Equip nurse educators with support, strategies, and guidance to succeed in their roles. Topics may include faculty development, mentorship, leadership, workload management, resilience and well-being, fostering inclusive learning environments, curriculum innovation, accreditation and regulatory considerations, scholarship, and the effective integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence into nursing education. 

The Summit welcomes presentations that share best practices, innovative programs, research findings, and practical solutions that advance nursing education and ultimately strengthen the nursing workforce. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, attendees will gain actionable insights to enhance student learning, faculty effectiveness, and healthcare outcomes.

Presentation Details 

Abstracts must describe completed projects, and all work should be original. 

Presentations may take the following forms: 

  • 60-minute standard breakout session 
  • 90-minute interactive breakout session 
  • E-poster presentation: digital poster with 15-minute presentation time during a dedicated breakout session 
  • Standard poster presentation: physical poster with exhibit hall presentation times 

You may select an alternate presentation form during the submission process to present if not accepted for your first choice. 

To be accepted for a presentation, you must be willing and able to attend the 2027 National Nurse Educator Summit in-person in Salt Lake City on April 28 – May 1, 2027. 

  • Accepted 60- and 90-minute breakout session speakers will receive complementary conference registration and a hotel room for the night(s) of their speaking obligation, plus a $500 stipend for travel. Maximum 2 speakers per accepted session. 
  • Accepted E-Poster presenters will receive complementary conference registration only. Maximum 2 speakers per accepted e-poster. 
  • Accepted Poster presenters will receive 25% off conference registration only.

  • Abstract Submissions Due: October 2, 2026 
  • Acceptance/Rejection Notifications Given: November 6, 2026  
  • Speaker Acceptance Needed By: November 20, 2026 
  • Preliminary Presentation Information Due: December 4, 2026 
  • Final Presentation Due: January 15, 2027 
  • Event Dates: April 28 – May 1, 2027
