Where Are We: Cultural Competence of Nurse Educators
Where Are We: Cultural Competence of Nurse Educators
Shifting demographics in the United States have created the need for a nursing workforce prepared to care for the complexities of an increasingly diverse population. Nurse educators are tasked with preparing the next generation of nurses amidst a pandemic, rapid changes in health care, and social justice concerns. The cultural competence of nurse educators has been correlated with the competence of nursing students, thus cultural competence of nurse educators requires continued exploration. This presentation will explore the results, conclusions, and recommendations of a study of cultural competence of nurse educators across program types and the association between cultural competence and nurse educator attributes.
