Implementing Case-Based Learning to Develop Clinical Judgment Skills
The purpose of the session is to outline the structure of case-based learning (CBL) in the classroom through the development and application of an instructor’s guide, where clinical judgment skills are specifically identified as objectives of the intervention. The session will provide an overview of inquiry-based learning strategies as well as an in-depth review of CBL. Participants are encouraged to bring a case study to the session. We will spend time creating an instructor’s guide specifically focused on your case and the components of clinical judgment. A case, instructor’s guide and related assignments will be provided to participants to use as an example when creating a CBL intervention.
