In this presentation, attendees will hear about best product use practices of schools demonstrating strong student outcomes. The speakers will emphasize these best practices from the beginning of a nursing student’s career (i.e., admissions) to the end of a nursing student’s career (i.e., NCLEX preparation).
Tony Juve earned his PhD in educational psychology with an emphasis on measurement, assessment and statistics from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He joined the ATI Psychometrics team in 2008 and works to support the technical quality of Ascend Learning educational products. Tony also teaches advanced multivariate statistics and research methodology for the MidAmerica Nazarene University graduate program and the Olivet Nazarene University doctoral program. He enjoys fly fishing, painting and spending time with his family on Lake Lotawana in Missouri.

Janet Grinyer, MSN, RN, PHN, CNS, has more than 30 years of clinical, supervisory, managerial and teaching experience. Grinyer received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Texas Woman’s University in 1981 and her master’s degree from California State University, San Bernardino in 2007. She is a certified community health clinical nurse specialist and a certified public health nurse in the state of California. She has served as an academic advisor, and a member of the faculty professional development coordinating committee. She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Rho Beta Chapter and the Association of Community Health Nurse Educators (ACHNE).
Prior to joining ATI in 2012, she practiced public health nursing in Texas, Colorado and California and most recently taught community/public health nursing, and leadership in a bachelor’s degree nursing program in southern California. As a clinical instructor in this same setting she taught community/public health nursing, leadership/management, health assessment and transitional concepts for professional nursing. Over the years she has worked on numerous grants and committees, and serves as a parish nurse in her local community.
Grinyer became her school’s unofficial “ATI Champion” during her last year of teaching when she convinced her school’s director to require students to abide by a strong ATI usage policy. In her classroom, she saw between a 10 and 18 percent increase in scores on practice assessments, and she had 43 out of 44 meet the benchmark on the proctored exam.
Janet Kane has over 35 years of clinical, managerial and teaching experience. Prior to joining ATI, as Director of Nursing she developed and implemented practical nursing program, facilitated State Board of Nursing approval and NLNAC accreditation within a two-year timeline. The program’s mission to educate, empower and provide entry to practice was realized as NCLEX-PN pass rate for first graduating class exceeded the national and state average, with over 90% graduate employment six months following graduation. Her commitment to life-long learning is realized in her role as RN-BSN adjunct faculty for Immaculata University.
Ms. Kane received her master’s degree in Nursing Education from Holy Family University, Philadelphia, PA. She received her diploma in nursing from Catholic Medical Center, Jamaica, New York, and her bachelor’s in Nursing from Eastern University, St. Davids, Pennsylvania.
